![]() what makes it more frustrating is just not understanding hardly any of it haha. As I read on i don't see what the solution to that is besides him saying that trying to convert it will lead to hardware failures. When I do this step, my Bios Version/Date says the same thing as the one in his picture provided below. Trying to convert the legacy BIOS will lead to hardware failures." However, if it only gives the name of your BIOS version, the device does not have UEFI firmware settings. "If it says UEFI, your device is eligible for legacy BIOS to UEFI conversion. ![]() So you should verify the eligibility for your device specifically." Generally, all motherboards launched after 2014 are UEFI secure boot capable but that’s not always the case. "Always verify whether your Windows system is capable of supporting UEFI in the first place. It says to verify if your Windows system is capable of supporting UEFI in the first place by checking your BIOS version/date. ![]() So this thread they use looks like it directly addresses my issue like you said, but I'm at a hiccup lol. Linus actually has the same problem with his vr system, the solution iirc was to enable csm, boot into windows then run a command which switches from legacy to uefi without requiring a windows reinstall TV and gadgets: TCL 50EP680 50" 4K LED + Sharp HT-SB100 75W RMS - Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.1" - OnePlus 9 256GB - Olymous Cameda C-160 - GameBoy Color.Networking: Asus RT-N18U - SpeedPort Plus - 35/7 Mbps vDSL - TP-Link TL-WA850RE - TP-Link 5-port 1Gbps switch.Peripherals: LG 32GK650F - Philips 226VL - Logitech G Pro X Superlight with Tiger Ice - White Shark Spartan X (TKL) - EndGame Gear MPC890 - Genius HF 1250B - Akliam PD4 - Sennheiser HD 560s - Truthear Zero - QKZ x HBB - 7Hz Salnotes Zero - Logitech C270 - Behringer PS400 - BM700 - Colormunki Smile - Speedlink Torid - Jysk Stenderup - LG 24x External DVD writer - Konig smart card reader.Main PC: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - EK AIO 360 D-RGB - Arctic Cooling MX-4 - Asus Prime X570-P - 4x8GB DDR4 3200 HyperX Fury CL16 - Sapphire AMD Radeon 6950XT Nitro+ - 1TB Kingston Fury Renegade - 1TB ADATA SX 6000pro - 512GB ADATA SU800 - 960GB Kingston A400 - Seasonic PX-850 850W - custom black ATX and EPS cables - Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout - Windows - 3 Arctic Cooling P14 PWM PST - 5 Arctic Cooling P12 PWM PST. ![]() Computer Engineering), Senior IT advisor in a hospital, 30 years of gaming, 20 years of computer enthusiasm, Geek, Trekkie, anime fan Monitor: Samsung 49'' Odyssey G9, Samsung 28" UE590 UHD PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 ARGB 850W 80+ Gold SSD/HDD: Samsung SSD 980 500gb (boot), Samsung Extreme Pro 500gb, Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 2TB ![]() I also don’t want to lose the data saved on my boot ssd if that would even be a potential issue. So my question here is what do I do to either configure my boot drive as a UEFI so I can run resizable bar, or if there’s another solution I’m all ears. Someone was telling me that if CSM is not booting with it disabled then my OS is not configured as a UEFI boot. With CSM disabled, bios cannot find my ssd boot drive. When I enable it in the bios, it makes me disable CSM but once I do so I cannot boot pc. I am trying to enable Resizable Bar for my RTX 3050. Pretty green here on the technical side of pc’s. ![]()
